Through the Palm Springs Sunset Music Series, Sunset Music & Education Foundation (SMEF) produces world-class concerts spanning jazz, blues, R&B, rock, country and beyond, creating intergenerational connections through music while celebrating women, LGBTQ+ artists, artists of color, legendary performers and exciting new voices.
Every great show has a purpose beyond the stage. Proceeds help fuel our SMARTS Initiative, putting instruments into young people's hands and connecting them with professional musicians, mentors, scholarships, master classes and real-world performance opportunities. Because sometimes music doesn't just change a child's life. It becomes a lifeline.
From young people discovering what’s possible to older adults stepping out of social isolation to connect and share in the joy of live music, music becomes a bridge between generations.

The Palm Springs Sunset Music Series presents two unforgettable concerts this November celebrating the women, music and legacies that continue to shape our culture.
SATIN & SOUL - Saturday, Nov 14th
The weekend kicks off sizzling hot!
Get ready for a night of SATIN & SOUL—where smooth jazz meets soul, R&B, spoken word and a little Sunset magic. Acclaimed saxophonist Pamela Williams “The Saxtress” and U.S. Jazz Ambassador Sweet Baby J’ai come together for an intimate evening celebrating two women who have built careers by refusing to stay neatly inside the lines.
Pamela brings the signature sound and smooth-jazz fire that has taken her around the world, including her new hit, Meet Me in Malibu, while SBJ brings her genre-blurring mix of jazz, soul, poetry and storytelling, including her new single, The First Time I Kissed a Girl. With guitar-slinging blues-rock powerhouse Laurie Morvan, the boss on the bass, Robin Bramlett, award-winning drummer Moyse Lucas, and Musical Director Sunnie Paxson at the helm and a surprise guest joining the celebration, expect an evening that’s smooth, soulful, sexy—and anything but predictable.

The Changer & The Changed! Sunday, Nov 15th
Sunset Music, in association with Living Out Palm Springs, presents The Changer & The Changed. They wrote the songs, picked up their guitars, built their own stages—and created a musical movement that gave generations of women a place to hear themselves, see themselves, and celebrate who they were.
The Changer & The Changed: Celebrating Womyn’s Music brings together four artists, each carrying a different piece of the story. Legendary singer-songwriter Cris Williamson, whose music helped define a movement, is at the heart of the afternoon. Corday brings the independent fire of the generation that followed. Abby Posner carries that spirit forward with a new generation of songwriting, musicianship and storytelling. And guitar powerhouse Kat Dyson reaches back to honor the women whose music helped lay the foundation—from Memphis Minnie and Sister Rosetta Tharpe to Odetta.
