About Us

Welcome to the Sunset Music and Education Foundation, a public 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching lives and fostering community through the transformative power of music. Our mission is to provide access to music education and performance opportunities for underserved youth while celebrating the diverse cultural expressions that unite us all.

The Sunset Music Series is a cornerstone of our work, offering a dynamic mix of genres, including jazz, blues, soul, rock, Latin jazz, classical, country, and comedy. These performances honor legendary artists, highlight rising stars, and showcase the contributions of women musicians. Beyond providing world-class entertainment, the Sunset Music Series also supports our SMARTS Initiative (Sharing Music, Accessing Resources, Transforming Students). These events, alongside other fundraising efforts, help generate the critical resources needed to offer musical instruments, education, and mentorship to underserved youth, directly empowering the next generation of artists.

At the heart of the Foundation is the SMARTS Initiative, which ensures that every young musician, regardless of their background, has access to the tools and resources they need to pursue their passion for music. SMARTS opens doors to life-changing opportunities, helping students develop discipline, creativity, and confidence—qualities that foster both academic success and personal growth.

We understand the challenges faced by students in underserved communities, where access to music education and resources is often limited. By providing instruments and educational support, the Sunset Music and Education Foundation helps break these barriers, empowering the next generation of musicians to thrive.

Through our music programming, the Foundation also celebrates cultural moments like Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Jazz History Month, and Juneteenth through educational events and performances. These observances help us connect music to history and foster understanding, bringing communities together in a shared celebration of culture.

Founded in 2025, the Sunset Music and Education Foundation is powered by a dedicated team of  producers, board members, and volunteers who are committed to creating a lasting impact. Together, we’re building a future where music, creativity, and community inspire and transform lives.
